Electrical & Legal Disclaimer
For informational and educational purposes only. Always consult a licensed electrician and local code authority.
1. Educational Use Only
WirePhase calculators, tables, examples and articles provide general information to help users learn and estimate. They are not engineering design, code-compliance certification, inspection, or professional advice of any kind.
2. NEC and CEC Compliance
Electrical installations in the United States are governed by the National Electrical Code (NEC, NFPA 70) as adopted and amended by state and local governments; in Canada by the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC, CSA C22.1) and provincial or territorial regulations. Adopted editions, amendments and utility requirements vary. The Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the final say. WirePhase does not guarantee that any result complies with a particular code edition, local amendment, or product listing. Several tools reference NEC tables; Canadian values and rules differ in some cases, so verify against the CEC.
3. Assumptions and Limitations
Results depend on simplifying assumptions, which may include standard conductor temperatures and resistances, copper/aluminum constants, uniform conductor sizes, balanced loads, ignoring AC reactance in some tools, harmonics, and special conditions (corrosive locations, hazardous areas, parallel conductors, continuous-duty exceptions, equipment terminal ratings). Always check manufacturer data, equipment nameplates and listing instructions. Calculations are estimates and may contain errors; report suspected mistakes to us.
4. Safety Warning
Electrical work can cause shock, burns, fire, injury or death. De-energize, lock out and test before working. Do not attempt electrical work unless you are qualified and permitted where required. Many jurisdictions require licensed electricians and permits for installations and modifications.
5. No Reliance; No Professional Relationship
Use of WirePhase does not create an electrician-client, engineer-client or attorney-client relationship. Do not rely on WirePhase for design, permitting, purchasing, or safety decisions without independent verification by a licensed professional.
