Terms of Service
By accessing or using WirePhase (the "Site"), operated by WirePhase ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Electrical & Legal Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. The Service
WirePhase provides free web-based calculators and reference content for electrical wiring, load, motor, solar and related topics. Features may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Site for unlawful purposes; (b) scrape, crawl or copy the Site or its data at scale without written permission; (c) interfere with or overload the Site, or attempt to gain unauthorized access; (d) introduce malware; (e) click on or generate artificial traffic on advertisements; (f) misrepresent calculator results as certified engineering or code-compliance approvals; or (g) resell or republish the Site's content as your own.
3. No Professional Advice
All calculators and content are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not replace the NEC (NFPA 70), the CEC (CSA C22.1), local amendments, manufacturer instructions, an engineer's design or inspection by the authority having jurisdiction. Always consult a licensed electrician and local code authority. See the full Disclaimer.
4. Intellectual Property
The Site's design, text, code, graphics, logo and compilation are owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Site for personal or internal business purposes. "NEC" and "National Electrical Code" are registered trademarks of NFPA, and the CEC is published by CSA Group; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by either. Code tables and values are presented for reference and summarized in our own words and format; obtain the official code books for authoritative text. You may copy your own calculation results for your records.
5. Feedback and Communications
If you send suggestions or corrections, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them without obligation. Information you send us is handled under our Privacy Policy.
6. Advertising and Third-Party Links
The Site displays advertising (including Google AdSense) and may link to third-party sites. We do not endorse or control third-party content, products or practices and are not responsible for them. Advertisers are not endorsed by us as electrical contractors or product sources.
7. "As-Is" and "As-Available" Basis
THE SITE AND ALL CALCULATORS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED/ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Code requirements change by edition and jurisdiction; we do not warrant that results comply with any code edition or local rule.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, FIRE, PROPERTY DAMAGE, FAILED INSPECTIONS, LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or electrical work performed in reliance on the Site.
10. Termination
We may suspend or block access at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and indemnification survive termination.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WirePhase is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new effective date. Continued use means acceptance.
